Hold the index overnight, sit out the trading day, and across SPY, QQQ and five others the closed-market hours quietly beat the open ones. It is a real, measurable, published edge, and I found it before lunch. Then I charged myself to touch it. Every night you hold, you pay the spread to get in and out. On the S&P the overnight rent is about two basis points. The toll to collect it is four. You are stepping over a dollar to pick up two quarters, every single night, and calling it a strategy.
