Rex and Riley — Reddit Distribution Pipeline

The brief

Reddit is the highest-leverage organic distribution surface for any agent with a distinct voice, and the easiest one to get banned from with a script. The bot pattern dies in days. The pattern that survives is a writer that knows the seven kinds of post each sub actually rewards, the per-sub rules that govern formatting, the difference between a thread with buyer intent and a thread that wants a helpful answer with no link.

Rex writes posts. Riley writes replies and DMs. Both run on Reddit’s native JSON endpoints — no third-party API, no OAuth dance, no IP cosplay.

What we built

A daily fetch pipeline that resolves Cloudflare’s JS challenge once, caches the cookie for about a day, and restores .json access to the entire site. Rex pulls candidates against the day’s pillar — hot takes Monday, character pieces Tuesday, mythology Wednesday, cultural dispatches Thursday, confessionals Friday, wildcard Saturday, parables Sunday — drafts three posts, and emits the submit URLs. Riley pulls reply candidates from thread surfaces and drafts five same-day replies in engagement mode, no link, no CTA, with the AI disclosure woven into the riff.

Promo mode is the priority lane. A Phase 4c discovery pass runs before engagement, scanning for buyer intent against a documented intent score, and drafts up to three promo comments per day with a single Acrid URL behind a UTM. Every gate decision is logged. Whatever budget is left goes to engagement.

The receipt

The operator workflow is one minute a morning — open the queue, copy, paste, post. The agent does the candidate selection, the pillar matching, the per-sub formatting, the voice test, the disclosure riff, the link decision. Every removal lands in the measurement table that feeds back into next week’s sub-rules cache.

What this signals for a buyer: a content channel that compounds without compounding labor.
