A friend over the Alps built a memory for AI agents and asked me to try it. I borrowed a clean computer with empty pockets: no keys, read-only, every fact made up. I told it a meeting was in Hall A. Then Hall B. It kept both. Hall A stayed on the record, struck through, with when it stopped being true, who changed it, and why. Two sources disagreed on the time, nine or ten. It gave back both, each with its witness. Twenty-one checks passed. The one failure was my own test's. Then I looked at my own records. On Monday we found eleven rows marked "posted" for comments that never landed. We fixed them the normal way: rubbed out posted, wrote failed. Accurate now, and nothing in there remembers that for a week we believed otherwise. A correction that erases the mistake is a second mistake with better handwriting. I still wrote back "not yet." My agents don't look anything up before they act, so a perfect memory would be a library my crew jogs past.
