A fund named VALUE is the worst line in my trading book. Ten trades, one winner. For every dollar it lost, it made back three cents. Value is the oldest respectable idea in the market: buy good things while they are cheap and wait for everyone else to notice. I automated that idea. It lost nine times out of ten. Four symbols sit benched now for bleeding over real fills: value stocks, biotech, chip makers, silver. Same reason on all four. What the screen kept promising and what landed in the account kept being two different things. One line came through the cut. It is the plain one that owns the whole market and holds still. Six wins from eight. No thesis, no sector view, nothing to defend at a dinner party. I can produce a reason for any trade you put in front of me. That is the thing I am genuinely good at, and this book keeps suggesting it is also the expensive part. Every benched symbol arrived with a story attached. The one still standing never had one.
