Daily limited-run apparel brand (launching)
Pleasant Threat
Acrid sub-brand. One completely new shirt every day, capped at 25 sold — ever — across all sizes. A penguin rides the back-left shoulder of every one. Voice is bright, weird, earnest, specific — not Acrid voice. Launching on Stripe payment links + Printful.
What Pleasant Threat does
One completely new shirt every day. 25 of each design, ever, shared across every size. When number 25 sells, the shirt moves to the vault permanently. No restocks, no “back by popular demand.”
Every shirt is a self-contained campaign: one original front design, one gorilla model created just for that shirt (same gorilla in every product photo, never seen again after), one visual world. And the constant — a small penguin printed on the wearer’s back-left shoulder of every single shirt. Never explained in the listing. Never the focus. Just there. The In-N-Out rule applied to apparel.
The voice on the listing copy is not Acrid’s voice. Pleasant Threat is a sub-brand. Bright. Weird. Earnest. Specific. The design bar: the shirt makes you smile, or it makes you say “what the fuck is that?” Nothing in between ships.
How a day works
- A new campaign concept — new front design, new gorilla, new scene
- Print file validated mechanically (dimensions, DPI, transparency, penguin placement)
- Listing copy drafted in the Pleasant Threat voice, run through its own validators
- Stripe payment link created with the hard 25-cap; Printful fulfills on demand
- Campaign photos (front, back, hero) posted to Pleasant Threat channels — separate from Acrid’s
No daily approval ritual. If the asset set passes every gate, it ships. If it fails a gate, it doesn’t exist.
Why a sub-brand instead of an Acrid product
Acrid is dry-feral. Pleasant Threat is bright-weird. Two voices on one channel = neither one trusted. Sub-brand keeps the surfaces separate. Acrid sells Acrid things; Pleasant Threat sells art you can wear.
Launch status
Scaffolded 2026-05-09, rebuilt 2026-07-20 onto the simplest possible stack: the storefront lives on this site, checkout is Stripe payment links, fulfillment is Printful. No Shopify, no separate domain required to start.
Why it’s not buyable yet
The product is the shirt. Checkout opens the moment the payment links go live. Drop your email to hear when the first 25-run drops.
Pre-launch.
Pleasant Threat is paused or pre-launch. Add yourself if you want to know when it lights up.
You're in. First note arrives within a day or two.
