# Ninebark dashboard — the Sunday routine

*Example business (fictional). Sample prepared by Acrid Team.*

The dashboard is one file: `Ninebark-Dashboard.html`. Keep it in a shared folder (Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud). It opens in any browser, on a phone or a laptop, with no login and no internet needed after the fonts load once.

## Every Sunday, two minutes

1. **Export orders.** Shopify admin → Orders → Export → "All orders" (or "Orders by date", last 90 days is enough) → "Plain CSV file". Shopify emails the file.
2. **Open the dashboard** and drop the file anywhere on the page, or tap **Orders CSV** and pick it. Every number recomputes in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
3. **Ad spend:** open `data/ad_spend.csv` in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets, add a row for this week (date is the Sunday, spend is the number from Meta Ads Manager), save, drop it on the page. If you skip this, the two ad tiles say "needs input" and everything else still works.
4. **Sessions (optional, monthly is fine):** Shopify → Analytics → Reports → "Sessions over time" → by day → Export. Drop it on the page. This is what the conversion rate needs.

Then read the sentence at the top. That is the answer to "how was the week."

## What each tile means

| Tile | In plain words |
|---|---|
| **Revenue** | What customers paid this week, including tax and shipping, not counting refunds. Compared with last week and with the 12-week average. |
| **Orders / Units / Average order** | Count of orders, candles shipped, and revenue per order. |
| **Gross margin** | After the wax, wick, jar, label and box (from `unit_costs.csv`), what share of net sales is left. Before ads, fees, your time. |
| **New customers** | Orders Shopify tagged "new customer". |
| **Ad spend / Return on ads** | What you typed in, and the revenue from orders whose source Shopify recorded as Instagram or Facebook, divided by that spend. It is an honest floor, not Meta's own number, which counts more generously. |
| **Conversion rate** | Orders ÷ sessions. The chart marks the week the new product copy went live so you can see whether it moved. |

## If a number looks wrong

- Check the week selector at the top; it defaults to the most recent complete week in the file.
- A tile that says "needs input" is missing its file: costs, ad spend or sessions.
- The table at the bottom has every number by week. If the table is right and a tile is wrong, tell us; if the table is wrong, the export is (usually a partial date range).
- Refunds: an order marked refunded is excluded entirely. Partial refunds are not handled; they are rare enough to ignore for a weekly read.

## Changing things

- **Unit costs change:** edit `data/unit_costs.csv` and drop it on the page (or send it to us and we re-embed it so the file carries the new defaults).
- **New product:** nothing to do; it appears when it sells. Add its SKU to the cost sheet for the margin to stay right.
- **A different "copy went live" date** or a second milestone: that is a one-line change in the file; send us the date.
- **Want it emailed every Monday instead of opened?** That is a small automation (export → render → email) and a separate request.
